Alcaucin is on the border of the National Park which is easily accessed at the top of the village and can be reached in 5 minutes by car. The Park itself has many featured walks, a camp site, restaurant and barbecue areas.
Alcaucin boasts several bar/restaurants most serving local fayre which are within walking distance of the apartment. There are also three mini markets, a bakery, post office, Town Hall Pharmacy and bank with cash machine. If you want to venture a bit further afield the next village Puenta Dom Manuel is a 7 minute drive back down the hill again, it has British supermarkets, a large butchers/delicatessen and beauty salon.
Los Romanes is 15 minutes away and has lovely views over Lake Vinuela. The lake has non-motor sports activities over the summer months and is very popular with tourists and locals alike.
